A digital space to discover and celebrate the heritage of salting and seafaring culture in L’Escala.
The Salting Heritage Memory Portal is a web project dedicated to preserving, documenting and sharing the memory linked to the salting tradition in L’Escala, an activity closely connected to the town’s history, landscape and seafaring identity. At Antaviana, we developed the website design, layout and programming, in collaboration with La Foneria, responsible for managing and coordinating the project.
The website brings together the various contents around the tangible and intangible heritage of fish salting, combining historical information, spaces, trades, people and testimonies. The result is an educational resource that enables users to learn about, explore and share the heritage of fish salting in l'Escala, making part of the collective memory linked to the sea, the territory and the people who have shaped it accessible online.
